taking care of me+ahi+salmon

i was thinking yesterday, stretching horizontally under the sky on the green grass of dolores park, soft sun, chilly breeze, almost drizzling and music, dogs, lovers, kids, food, books: life! i was thinking that i want to take care of myself. never rush a shower anymore, brush my teeth at leisure, go do yoga, get my hair cut and when it needs a new hair cut go get that too, find a lotion for my face, buy a new pair of tennis shoes and wax. this is only for starters, whatever more my body wants.

that is what lying on a public park grass on a sunday does to a woman. then i bought a large ahi tuna steak from hawaii (from whole foods) on 24th st. and grilled that plain (nothing added at all), then served rare on a bed of soy sauce. not bad at all.

the other day i grilled a slice of salmon in the oven. marinated in soy and rice vinegar in a medium heat oven for 15 minutes with a cucumber salad. the cucumber, thinly sliced, was marinated in rice vinegar, sesame oil, sprinkles of paprika and when served a small sprinkle of salt.

sometimes simplicity is just yum.

There is a constant temptation here in Seattle to eat Tuna and Salmon, i do not need extra pressure from you when you describe such delicious sounding recipes!

Also, when i come we must go to the Italian place, i want a sandwich from there. Also, burritos and squash (which by the way, you can cut any kind of squash in the middle without peeling, remove the seeds, put in pyrex with a tiny bit of olive oil on bottom, with either salt and crushed red peppers, or brown sugar on top, then cover with foil paper on 170 degrees, and tadaa, yummyness!).

Now i am hungry and will go grocery shopping! Damn!
